「ロス疑惑」の三浦和義、ロスに死す

A Japanese businessman accused of conspiring to have his wife murdered 27 years ago in Los Angeles has been found dead in an apparent suicide, less than 24 hours after he set foot in the continental United States to answer to the charges. Kazuyoshi Miura, 61, apparently hanged himself while in police custody, said his attorney, Mark Geragos, who was notified early Saturday by prosecutors in the case about his client's death.

　地元紙のLAタイムズのサイトのトップにも出ていたが、「ロス疑惑」の三浦和義容疑者がロサンゼルスの拘置所で自殺していたのが発見される。詳細はわからならいが、サイパンで逮捕され、ロスに移送されたばかりだった。死の抗議ということか。あるいは、61歳からの拘置・裁判にもう耐えられなかったのか。
